Religious Education

"Religious education is a matter not only of the head but also of the heart.  It is important to learn as much about Jesus and his Church as possible, but our study should also help us to know Jesus as our Savior, our Friend, our Lord and our God, to commit our lives to him, and to be active members of his Church."

--Fr. Oscar Lukefahr, C.M.

Religious Education Philosophy

A person, whether he or she is a child, youth, or adult, never stops learning or growing in his or her faith.

The Pastoral Administrator, Director of Religious Education, and Cathechists of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish will conduct the Religious Education Program to the best of their abilities and request the Parish's support to enable each child and adult…

To Learn About Jesus' Love For Us!

To Learn How To Treat Other People The Way Jesus Would!

To Grow In Our Love And Faith Of God and the church!

Prayer For One's Family

Father
Sometimes the family
gets me down.

The children are noisy
and the bills pile up.
Relatives and friends make demands
on my time and attention.

I try to keep first things first
and create an atmosphere where Your name
is honored, Your word observed.

But I get tired
and a hard edge creeps into my voice.
Help me to cope with the daily strains
of living in a family.

Help me to sustain a climate in which my
partner
can grow in Your love,
to encourage my children to develop fully
the talents You have given them
and to make of my family
the community of love
that Your Son came to bring.

Amen.

Liturgy of the Word
Children ages Five through Senven are invited to participate in a special Children’s Liturgy of the Word through the use of Scriptural readings related to children during Mass in the parish hall. After the homily, these children rejoin their parents for the rest of the Mass.

Our pastor, Fr, Frank Coady, is director of Pastoral Studies for the Diocese and coordinates these programs. Parishioners are highly encouraged to enroll; religious education is a life-long activity.

R.C.I.A.
The RCIA(Rite of Christian initiation of adults) is a process whereby the person interested in the Catholic Church will discover through study and prayer if this is the choice their faith life is taking. The process involves getting to know more about the Catholic Church and it's teaching. If interested, please call Sr. Rose at 785-825-5282
